(Above) Before beginning construction of the retaining wall. When Optifine for 1.14.x is released, I'll probably line the top with stone brick fence. I may replace it with a stone brick buttress to keep it uniform. Now it's time to obsess over details! I'm going to put a gate in the old cobblestone fence, but I'm not sure if I'll keep that cobblestone end post against the retaining wall or not. Before I began, I knew whatever I did, I was going to carefully move them one at a time and replant them on top. Proving just how sentimental I am, notice the two peony flowers in the "after" image above and in the "before" shot below. I could remove all the dirt and stone from the corner where the wall meets the battlement-but nostalgia begs me keep it.
FERAL FLARE LANTERN MINECRAFT RANGE UPDATE
Default textures, but the green carpet was replaced with that from before the World of Color update mistakenly de-saturated it. (Above) After completing the retaining wall. Normally, I try not to post pictures of the castle in this thread, but for this, it would have been rather hard not to do so! My play style centers on distant adventuring-building, farming, redstone, etc., just aren't what I enjoy most.

It can be fun, but I'm not much of a builder. I've procrastinated against doing things like this for years.
Its appearance has changed dramatically over the years, of course, but since about 2016, outside changes have been mostly subtle.

What seems like so long ago, when I was still a new Minecraft player, that rock formation was always the first thing to appear from out of the mist at the edge of render distance it was what I sought, sometimes desperately, when chased through the woods by the terrors of the night, lost in the surrounding Bleach Bone forest, the 3,000-square-block birch forest that meets the Brinemire Swamp to the north and seemingly endless plains to the west of the castle.Ĭastle Midgard is my first and main base in this vanilla, large biome, single-player survival world began July 2, 2014. Tonight, I continued to terraform Castle Midgard's environs, this time completing the construction of a retaining wall around one of my world's most prominent natural features, Odin's Spear, the jutting rock formation to the left of the images.
